Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Heavy Rains Flood Gurugram Roads, Disrupt Flights, Flood Warning Issued

Delhi NCR Weather Update, Sept 2, 2025 – Incessant rainfall brought Delhi and its satellite cities to a standstill on Tuesday, with Gurugram heavy rains causing unprecedented waterlogging, widespread traffic snarls, and flight disruptions. Authorities across the National Capital Region (NCR) are on high alert as the Yamuna river crossed the danger mark, prompting flood warnings and mass evacuations in low-lying areas.

Gurugram Reels Under Waterlogging and Traffic Gridlock

The city of Gurugram soaked in over 100 mm of rainfall in just four hours. Water filled up roads at big places like IFFCO Chowk, Sheetla Mata Road, and Signature Tower underpass.

Cars got stuck and people waited for hours. Some drivers sat in traffic from 8 PM to 4 AM. On Tuesday morning, the weather office gave an orange alert.

Leaders told schools and offices to stay closed or work online. Even after working all night, water still covered parts of Sheetla Mata Mandir Road, Golf Course Road and MG Road.
